The Heart of Hollywood

The city of Hollywood is famous for many things: TV, movie, and music studios, nightlife, ethnically and gender diverse shops and restaurants, and much more.  But the heart of Hollywood is located at the intersection of Highland Ave and Hollywood Blvd.  That is where the famous Chinese Theatre is located and the Walk of Fame begins.  The best time to visit this spot is during the day because you can see more things and it’s safer.  I don’t want you to be too worried about your safety (or for that matter the safety of your purse or wallet), but it’s only natural to be more aware when you have street performers and dressed up pseudo movie heroes.

As long as you are there you can’t miss the Dolby Theater.  First of all, for the most practical reason: you can park your car there and with a validation from any store pay only $2 for up to 4 hours.  It’s a bargain because finding a free parking spot around this area is almost a miracle, and you have to be careful of various parking zoning rules.

Now, if you are willing to spend up to $30 per ticket (keep in mind that there are various discounts available for all three places that you can get either online or buy package deals at the site), these are the attractions that are worth seeing: Wax Museum,  Ripley’s Believe It or Not Museum, and Madam Tussauds Wax Museum.  Each is interesting in its own way, but my personal favorite is the last one.
